Inspired by the lovely setting at Wildhorse Golf Course in Davis, CA, Burroworks Fossorial Mammal Brian Bender takes time out from digging to practice his golf swing. The chamber top is at ground level with the insulated lid 3” higher. About a foot of soil will be piled on top of the lid. 
                        The white stick at center left is a graduated PVC pipe with feet. It will stand by itself on top of the lid to gauge the soil depth and then can be easily pulled out. We often move dirt piled on the makeshift tarps by just dragging them - much faster than shoveling! The yellow-topped pipe with the hook is a drill stand to prevent the drill and auger having to languish unceremoniously (and inconveniently) on the ground as they are here...
